Place the avocado, lime juice, cumin, salt, sour cream and garlic cloves into a medium bowl. Blend with an immersion blender until smooth.
Top with cayenne and cilantro. Serve with chips.
This recipe is easily doubled. However, instead of doubling the salt, season to taste with the salt when the recipe is doubled. Pickled red onions is a perfect pairing with this dip.
