Place two ice cubes in a cup and add the syrup, whiskey and lemon juice. Stir well to combine and chill.

Drain the cocktail from the cup and pour into another glass with three ice cubes (or one large ice cube).

Pour the strawberries into the cocktail and stir well. Serve cold.
