Lemon-Ginger Simple Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of water
  • zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • fresh ginger, thinly cut into 4 1 ½ x ½ inch slices

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients into a small sauce pan on the stove and heat on medium-low for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • Strain the syrup through a sieve into a glass container. Let cool, cover and store in the fridge.
